Competitions at Leyland Photographic Society
Internal Competitions – Open Competitions
Regular competitions, judged by an experienced independent adjudicator are a welcome opportunity to improve the quality and variety of photographs made by all members. These competitions are split into two ‘levels’: Members and Advanced so whatever your level of skill your photographs can be judged against people of a similar ability.
Photographs can be submitted in either print or digital image format so even if you don’t have a printer you can still take part.
At each monthly competiton there is a “Theme” section open to all members of the club (i.e. no distinction between Advanced and Member sections).
From 2018 season onwards all entries are to be presented in PDI format only at 1600×1200 in sRGB colourspace, there will be no print section.
Themes for the 2019-2020 Season

Monthly Competiton 2: Song and film titles
Monthly Competiton 3: Farming
Monthly Competiton 4: Decay

In addition to our regular internal competitions, the Society also regularly takes part in Regional Competitions and Exhibitions. Our members have achieved excellent results in many of these.
Members are encouraged and assisted in acquiring Internationally Recognised Awards from the Royal Photographic Society, as well as the Photographic Association of Great Britain (PAGB). There are several members who are Fellows of the Society.
