Leyland Photographic Society

Annual Exhibition 2020

Welcome to the LPS online
Annual Exhibition 2020

Every year Leyland Photographic Society displays its annual exhibition at the LPS presentation evening during our club season and also, for print images, at the South Ribble Museum but this year it has to be a little different.

Owing to the current Covid-19 we can’t show our images in the normal way so we are pleased to show our members images online. For those viewing this for the first time we present awards in many categories as well as a usual overall first, second and third, very highly commended, highly commended and commended in our open entry PDI and Print competitions. There are awards for Projected digital images (PDIs) and Print images,  and overall for Best Monochrome, Best Colour, Best Nature, Best Sporting Action, Best Creative and Triptychs in both PDI and Print.

A  Letter from LPS  President President: Martin Sumner president@leylandps.org.uk

To all Members

I hope this message finds you all in good health – to quote an extremely well-used phrase – during these uncertain times.
So, to update you all on the future plans for LPS, the committee has held Zoom meetings the latest of which was yesterday evening. We discussed the current situation and, although the RAFA Club has re-opened with meetings limited to 30 people, we took the decision to delay restarting meetings until January next year at the earliest. It was also agreed that the committee
would remain unchanged until the end of next season and as a result of this we agreed to accept the role of host for the ICPA until their AGM in October 2021.
The decision not to restart in September was not taken lightly but we hope you will all understand that we do not want to put any of you, or your families, at unnecessary risk.
The Committee will meet again early/mid September and at that time we hope to be able to announce the start of digital competitions for members and to confirm dates.

Earlier in the year I asked members to suggest topics for our themed competitions and from the ideas submitted I have chosen the following:
Trees and Forests
Food
Sunset
Monochrome
Flowers

While on the topic of competitions I am delighted to be able to publish the results of our 2019/20 Annual Competition, please see attached. Congratulations to all mentioned and thanks to Jane Lines for judging the competition. Jane has agreed to come to a meeting once we restart to offer
comments and to present awards and certificates.
Stay safe and best wishes,
Martin
